(1) Timing promises to be awful. I'd play 13/12 8/5 and hope White enters and come around fast. I don't think 3/1 13/11* will work here.

(2) We have an anchor, the start of a good board, poor distribution, but a chance to pick up a tempo with an attack, so I play 8/4*/1*. If we hit once only, there are many returns and distribution is bad. If we play 13/10 6/2, all the pressure is off and we don't have a threatening position -- we have 5 stripped points and a blot.

(3) The 14 point blot needs to be safetied 14/13 or 14/10. I don't think 14/9 will work often enough. Despite the race I'd play 24/20 instead of 24/23.
