This looks like one of those positions where it can be the last opportunity to split safely before getting primed / even-boarded. So it's clear to me what to do with the 4. The ace is less clear, but I have learned not to move the spare from the 6pt (but not why), so 11/10 is my ace.

P.S.: I don't think Stick refers to 24/23, here the second checker up doesn't threaten anything and instead it's threatened by the opponent's stack on the 8pt.
