1. The opening book has 62S-65K as the clear winner, but this is the third roll of the game. R can't be right, but D is a candidate. On the second roll, 62S-65D doesn't make that much sense because the 8pt doesn't benefit much from a second spare, but here the 8pt is stripped and D threatens to make a strong four-prime, at the cost of only two extra shots. Not sure but I'll try D.

2. Ash Dalvi had a nice two-part article on GammonVillage not long ago about the tradeoff between hitting and making a home-board point. Here the tradeoff is between hitting and making the bar point, which despite the nice four-prime it makes doesn't seem as valuable as a home-board point, so I would think that hitting must be a clear winner. Bar/14* for me.

3. Magriel's criteria all point towards a bold play here, and the obvious bold candidate is bar/23 6/1*. The only other candidate I see is the safe bar/20 22/20 but with our large race deficit it looks wrong.
