I don't think there's any need to take risks here. Safety the checker with 18/16 and make the 9-point. If we play 12/10 we expose ourselves to three times as many hitting numbers as if we stay back (64 and 44 vs. 44) and I don't see what we gain. Obviously the 4-point is easier made next turn if we don't get hit but it doesn't seem vital that we make the 4-point next turn anyway. 44 is terrible for us no matter what and other than that he's not getting away safely.
