Mutual holding game, forced to leave a shot

I'd run with one, to 14, gaining some flexibility and outfield control for several rolls to come. With the two blots in the white board, I'm not afraid of being attacked on this roll. It will keep pressure on White's two back men for many rolls to come. We're down in the race, so we probably need to hit one of those back men in order to win. On the other hand, if one of the really big rolls hit us, we'll be in a position to use it better.
Any dangers? Well, 33 will attack us and white's big doubles will also play a lot better (44 and 66 that is, not 55).
Stick: While I agree with your move as the best slotting play, could you explain why you see it as "clear" to slot 8 instead of 7? (maybe I don't understand what you mean by clear - I'm thinking that when you say "clear" (and don't state any reasons) it's a move you'd play automatically without taking a second from the bank...).
