Mochy,
Nack expains in his Definition of R (Run) that the destination of at least one of the checkers moved in a play nactated "R" must be to a point in the range inclusively between the 17pt and the 13pt. The 18pt destination falls under the purview of the U/V (Up/Variant up) family.
You might have used P (Point) instead of Q (Quirky split) for bar/23 8/4 6/4. Although P (Point), has a dedication clause that mandates all parts of the roll be used in making a new point, it makes an exception for entering checkers. Of course, Q (Quirky split) is also fine.
A discussion of the M (Mayfair split) family is given below.

The M (Mayfair split) family, along with all other families used for doublets, is defined in the post entitled, "Nactation of Doublets (complete table)." For moves in the M family, one checker is played on the far side, one checker down, and two checkers either both jumping the bar, or both played inside.
In the position 64S-64X-22:
- There is only one way to play on the far side: bar/23.
- There are two ways to play down: 13/11 and 9/7.
- There is one way to jump: 8/6(2).
- There is one way to play inside: 6/4(2).
The various combinations produce four family members in all.
As none of the plays hits, the first ranking criterion to be applied from the Hit/Most/Six Rule is the Most-Points Convention. Two family members make the 4pt. They will rank 1st and 2nd in the family. Two other plays abandon the 8pt. They will rank 3rd and 4th.
The ties must be broken by checking the destinations of blots and spares that were moved. Any blot or spare that was not moved is irrelevant. First, one checks in home board; second, on the far side; and finally, in the outer board. In the home board, and on the far side, being closer to the 6pt is better. In the outer board, being farther from the 6pt is better. For checkers in the outer board, one finds the blot or spare destination that is closest to the 6pt point, but then ranks the play that has it lower.
In this family, all four plays leave a blot on the 23pt. The 1st and 2nd ranked plays are tied when that blot is checked. It is only when the blot destination in the outer board is checked that the tie is broken. Landing on the 11pt in the outer board outranks landing on the 7pt. In a similar manner, the tie between the plays ranked 3rd and 4th is broken in favor of the blot on the 11pt.
