You can remove the direct shot while making an inner point. White's priming threat is less than it appears since all sixes (except 51 perhaps?) will be used to make the bar anchor. Therefore, the defensive anchor is less critical than it may appear. I play P (9-5, 8-5).
I thought that the duplication in offensive and defensive plays after 63S was covered somewhere in Nack and Paul's book. But, I couldn't find it this morning. Perhaps it was another sequence with a blot on the ten. If anyone could refresh my memory, I would appreciate it.
