1. Covering the 1pt has to be a candidate, but I prefer to keep the five-prime. If White hits us on the 1pt, it shouldn't hurt too much if we have the bar point. Our position is strong enough that I think we should be trying to pick up more blots. The most aggressive play would be to flood the board with blots, e.g., 20/16 15/13, but that looks too loose. I'll try 24/20 15/13. This takes aim at White's blot and gets ready to spring the spare. Another possibility is 15/9, which also aims at the blot and gives some indirect cover numbers for the 1pt, but if White enters then she can just hop her blot past our blot.
2. 7/1* is clear and then the question is whether to make the 1pt or double hit. With the stronger board and the golden anchor, not to mention the fact that White already owns the cube, I think the double hit should win enough extra gammons to compensate for any extra games lost. 8/5* 7/1*.
3. Unusually for the Daily Quiz, the score is 4a3a. Still, I'm not sure that affects the play. We're ahead in the race, which is a bad thing in a priming game. 24/23 13/8 looks clear. If 13/8 6/5 is better then this will be a good DQR candidate.
