Position 1 - 7/5, 6/1 - OTB I would cover rather than run because it kills sixes, fives play well for us in any event and we can survive most other combinations (although 44 would be awkward). The upside of running is that you have very good odds of covering the 1 spot next round but if you are hit you may be handing him a sniff of a chance where he did not have one previously.

Position 2 - Double/Take - As always the first question is "is this a take?". White has two in the air but is ahead in the race, has a strong homeboard, blue has 3 back, only limited ammunition and has made the one & two points. To me it is a (scary) take. I have no idea whether that is enough to justify the take so I think it is a double and certainly against a human.

Position 3 - 13/7, 8/5 - Blue is behind so should maximise contact. The checker on the 1 spot is not under direct attack yet and there are some awkward combinations for white (64, 65)
