6/4 2/1 creates more wastage and strips you position, likely leaving you with the same choices next time, except that you will probably offer more shots.

13/10 and 13/11 13/12 both leave 10 shots. Bringing both down should give more ways to remake a point, so I'd prefer that of the two. 13/11 2/1 leaves 9 shots, 13/12 6/4 leaves 7 and has the best outfield coverage to force Black to waste pips inside.

Hitting gains about 6 pips on average, but leaves 11 immediate shots and maybe more next time. Six pips might be worth about 12% racing chances. Four extra shots represents about 11% hits, which are almost always fatal. That's close, but the repeat shots persuade me that 13/12 6/4 is the best blotting play.

But 13/12 6/4 offers 7 immediate shots - which are hit 19% of the time. Hmm, tough call, but I think I'll split now.

13/12 6/4 for me.
