Probability Question

Ray lists a question in each of his first two lines. The first one is the one I addressed, where each of 4 players is in a different quarter, which is of course a necessary condition.

In the second, the odds reduce by three, or 1 in 3x1.57M. Whichever half Player A is in, there is a one in 3 chance given Player B is in the other half since he is one of 3 remaining finalists.
