1. The question seems to be whether to split or make the 2pt. If we split, then I think I prefer Z to S. However, the 2pt is not such a bad point to make given that we are trying to attack/contain White's back checker. It cleans up a blot in the process and gives White no immediate opportunity to attack. 8/2 6/2.
2. Good problem. Though Blue has ten checkers in the zone and the best four-point board, I think White has a clear take. White is well ahead in the race and Blue's extra ammunition is mostly far from the front lines. White will often be able to enter quickly and scramble home with an advantageous position. I'm not so sure about the double. The score suggests being slightly more cautious with doubling a blitz than we would be for money. On the other hand, White does have that blot in her home board that we might pick up if there is an exchange of hits, and some of her entering rolls expose another blot (31 32). D/T.
3. The candidates seem to be 13/5(2), 13/9(4), 13/5 9/5(2), and 13/9 8/4(3). 13/5(2) looks natural at first glance but then our 6's force us to leave a blot (except 66) so I think we can discard it. 13/9(4) blots after 61 or 64. 13/5 9/5(2) blots after 63 64 65. 13/9 8/4(3) blots after 64 65. Given these facts, I'd just clear the midpoint now with 13/9(4) even though the stacks look ugly.
