I like 7(4) best, although 7(2) 2*(2) and 7(3) 18 seem "reasonable" -- 2*(2) 1 and 1*(2), not so reasonable. After 7(4) Blue has an excellent, compact and threatening position, and White has little effective counterplay. I think that outweighs the up- and downside of attacking immediately with 7(2) 2*(2). The (naturally) centered cube argues for 7(4) also. If White had the cube, 7(2) 2*(2) would be more appealing -- a more difficult decision for me, but I think I'd still play 7(4). What about strict gammon go? Then I'd play 7(2) 2*(2).
