POSITION 1: 24-20 / 13-7. This minimizes return shots on Blue's side of the board; sets up good numbers for next turn; and possibly claims white's 5 point if blue doesn't get hit. I reject the two other candidates - 13-7 / 13-9 leaves too many return shots on blue's side, and playing it safe with 8-2 / 6-2 is too easily defeated by white without accomplishing anything significant for blue.
POSITION 2: DOUBLE - TAKE. With a successful early-stage double holding game blue got the shot he wanted. Without a developed white prime, blue seems likely to have an easy extraction. However, there still seems like enough volatility here that White can Take. This one I'm really not sure about White's take.
POSITION 3: 13-9(4). While this looks strange, I think it reduces the chance of a white hit if rolls go badly in the outfield, and fully leverages blue's racing lead. Trying to manage the outfield AND the home board against white's holding anchors seems challenging.
