If all 13 of White's other checkers were home, I'd think about playing 8/3 1/off. But I believe I'd play the safer and somewhat slower 8/3 5/4 anyway -- maybe not, if White's ace point was empty? But since in the OLM position White has two checkers on the midpoint, I don't think it pays to leave us two blotting numbers in order to increase our gammon chances.
