For this sort of position I think one again has to go through all the rolls to be confident of the right play, but if short of time, I would make the snap decision to hit on the basis that we don't care about gammon losses and usually hitting wins more games in this sort of situation. White's 5's are good if we don't hit and White's 4's are good if we do hit, but we gain a lot more by hitting if White rolls poorly.
