Am I reading these rollouts right?
  1. "Cash game" versus "tied at 15-away" is irrelevant. There is little match influence here.
  2. The open 1pt is more significant, but not the deciding factor. A comparison with the 1pt open in both positions might also have been valuable.
  3. This is all about the checkers on the midpoint.
When the checkers are on the midpoint, there are enough gammon wins already. No extra risk is warranted.

When the midpoint checkers are moved into White's home board, the gammon is much less certain. Black should bear off with the 1. He is getting his "gammon price."
