Which is more important: Giving us two extra doublets, that will gain a roll or making sure we don't get an extra turn if we roll two aces?

After this roll we will have 9 crossovers left and will be on roll needing 8 crossovers to save the gammon (and all his checkers are one pip away from making a crossover so he's not all that likely to miss), so we can't be satisfied just taking two off every roll, hence I think catering to doublets is more important.
