POSITION 1: 6-5 / 3-off. This is Gammon Go, correct? Blue should take a checker off rather than worry about a 6-5 roll exposing a blot on the 5-point next turn.

POSITION 2: 13-9*. I think Blue has to hit here, to disrupt white's game. Even though the 8 and 6 poinys remain heavily stacked, with a checker on the 9 point, blue has good potential for a home board blitz beginning next turn.

POSITION 3: 8-3 / 6-3. I choose the safe play here because attacking the white blot on blue's 1 point is counter productive - it leaves an exposed blot against a 5 point board, or gives white the possibility to come in on the 5 point. Leaving a blot on the midpoint with 13 - 6 also feels risky even with only 5 shots.
