This is a tricky position and I'm not at all sure what's right, but I think what's happening is that we want to keep our blockade and force White to play her rolls awkwardly. So breaking the prime or burying a checker by hitting on the 1pt don't look right. We could play quietly with 8/3 4/3 or 8/2, or even 14/13 8/3, since we don't mind too much getting that blot hit due to White's open 4pt. However, I don't see why we would avoid hitting with 8/7* since we don't really want White to improve her position by escaping that checker or making a second anchor on our bar point. Thus I would narrow down my choice to 8/7*/2 versus 14/9 8/7*. I think 8/7*/2 lets us hold our blockade longer, and again, getting hit on the 2pt doesn't strike me as a big problem.
