1) 13/8 24/22 Worse board, no anchor, fewer men back and a small race lead indicates a safe play, so for one I'm not going with the tempo hit 6/1*. And although I'd like to unstack my position, I think that 13/11 gives too many good hits from White's split back checkers. 13/6 is quite ugly, and 24/22 actually has value even if coming under the gun. An attack on the 3 point does not build White's point in order and leaves the 4 point as a way out, and if not hit the checker now has more jumping numbers.

2) Double/pass

Maybe not a pass by much, but the Keith count has it as a thin pass, and it looks that way, too. The fact that Blue has 7 men and can afford one miss, while White has 8 and cannot is big. White's hole on 5 seems quite important too, meaning that if White rolls a 5 before a 6 he will miss with what ought to be a good number. Finally at the score 5-a 5-a White needs a tad more to take than for money.

3) 24/22 13/9 With no White board it is very tempting to give it one more go for the 5 point, but Blue is not well placed to win this fight. I think it is better to invest in an asset, and then there may still be opportunites to restart the fight next turn.
