1. I suspect that hitting and anchoring are fairly close here. I would anchor to lock up our defense before trying to pick a fight.

2. There are various fancy plays one can try here to extract maximum potential from the position. For example, 7/2 5/1 making a five-point board and hoping to hit some White blots. However, that could backfire if White manages to escape and avoid getting hit. I would try the more pedestrian 10/1, making a four-point board and keeping a guard back in case White springs a checker with a 6.

3. The candidates seem to be 13/5, 13/10 6/1*, and 13/10 13/8. With a stronger board and a loose White blot in the outfield, I'll try hitting with 13/10 6/1*, even though it uses our last spare on the 6pt.
