BTW, as I recall 31P-64P-53 is a cusp position: D (Down, 13/10 13/8) and S (Split, 24/21 13/8) are tied. Therefore, for 53P-64P-53, I believe S is a bit better than D (played above).

11 and 5 was probably better for the 52.

Yes, and by precisely the same margin that 21$ is better than 21D in my sequence. Your (fifth roll) 52 decision is shown on the left below. My (fourth roll) 21 decision is shown on the right below. The pairs of after-positions (not diagrammed) are identical.
