Using the 2 to make the 2-anchor seems to be a little bit more useful

than stripping the midpoint for an extra builder on the 11-point.

(Since a blot on this point is not risky)

The 2-anchor gives us fives, we need the 6'es to build on the frontside.

And when white has used his spare on his 8-point for building,

the 2-anchor will exert pressure on his 8-point.

Blue will have about 3 checkers off before white is home.

That's a wastage of 6 pips.

The 4 checkers on the white 2-point count for a wastage of 2 pips.

So the effective race is 65-70.

On top of that 123-combi's (9/36) will waste even more for white,

especially D2 and D3.

AtS gammons don't count,

so there is no good reason for any risk.

5off 2off.

3.

Since all hits (12x9) give returns more than 20/36,

and on top of that good white timing.

I only see 2 feasible options.

agressive 8x3 12x9, because it's the lowest risk (13/36) the next move.

Or structure with 15/10 13/10 with a risk of 21/36.

Because of the big difference in risk:

8x3 12/9
