You cannot attack leaving blots, so gammon variations are those where you point on opp, then opp dances a while, and then you race to a gammon. There are only few pointing rolls, and with each roll white is allowed to play, gammon chances drop further. So number of gammons won is low.

Can you lose the double out? Yes, for example on nothing followed by 66. So double, drop.
