To Pottle or not to Pottle

I'd make the 4. If I run, many numbers hit and gain in the race, combined with a better white board. If not hit, I'd be still down in the race.

If I make the 4, I'll have a board to work with, may hit a fly shot, and can step up later, risking less in the race.

With all respect to the author, no Pottle law for me here.
