If a double-line caption is implemented (either two lines below the board, or one line above and one line below, there are a lot of ways to word the lines. Personally, I prefer a single-line caption, such as above (upgraded based on other respondents' feedback so far).
If the top player is on roll, I suggest that the caption appear above (instead of below) the board; e.g., "White trails 1–11 to 13..."
