In Response To: bridge probability question (OT) - final summary (Chuck Bower)

The split Aces argument of Alder is valid for some deals. All other things being equal two Aces are more likely to be split between the defenders hands than both be in the same defender's hand by a ratio of 13:12. If this is all you have to go on then it is a good reason for playing for split Aces. However, it is pretty rare that this happens, I play a lot of bridge and cannot recollect using this in the last few years!
