If we could escape with both checkers at the same time, I would consider leaping into the outfield, but there is no way I would run with just one.

So that leaves plays on our side of the board, where I see two choices: hit on the 1pt, or slot the 2pt. After hitting, 5/1*, the remaining 3 is awkward to play. Piling a fifth checker on the 5pt seems like a loser, so the only reasonable alternative is 6/3. Slotting gives a beter distribution. After moving 5/2, we can play the 5 in from the 8pt. Either way we are risking 11 shots, but with the hit, we would also gain a tempo.

My vote: 8/3, 5/2
