We could play it "safe" with 8/3 6/3, but that just postpones our problem to a later, and likely more inconvenient, time. XG's board is not impressive right now, which should incline us to pay something. How to pay? 6/1* still leaves the back checkers unable to move, and forces a too front-loaded position for my taste. I think the five has to be 20/15, and then maybe 6/3 for some extra flexibility.
