Any router on the net could be a problem. It is hard to tell but since he says it works with a browser other than Firefox it suggests that likely it is related to his computer. I only pointed out the sluggishness of this site on occasion as a possible (but probably not likely) possibility. If he can switch between Firefox and IE and one always works and the other doesn't than it seems like it is going to be something on his system.
