You almost have me convinced. Yes, after the 8/4* hit, 22/16 is most probably going to win more often than 22/12. But it’s also going to get gammoned more often, right? Before reading your post, I was going to play 22/12 8/4*. But now it seems that that play is playing to lose less rather than to win. The only thing holding me back is the match score. Given that we are ahead, is the increased gammon risk worth it. I’m not sure. But, what the heck; as Ian said, the hit and spring play looks most fun. So, another vote for 22/12 8/4*.
