It is the nature of DNS. I don't have access to the exact configuration they are using for DNS. Likely under normal circumstances you get the GammonU IP address. But, if your browser finds the GammonU site unavailable (maybe a brief network outage) it will attempt to go to use next IP address associate with the domain (if there is one). In this case it would be FIBS IP address. That IP address will then be cached by the browser for a period of time.
It is quite conceivable to have it sending you to FIBS one day and then sometime in the near future (when the DNS cache entry expires on your system) a query to GammonU DNS server will get you the right IP address.
I would say that this individual was unlucky to access GammonU at the wrong time. I bet they can reach GammonU via the IP address and I'd also bet that sometime in the future it will start working again out of the blue.
