the reason i liked the "loose" play is that i've been hounded by the bots that escaping trumps priming and we need to hit if white enters and escapes. however, this position is a bit different. we've only got a 4 point board and one checker @ the edge of a 5 prime. here we need the 5 point tremendously --- we have to hope that we can roll another 6 before crunch time. nothing is perfect. we can still lose --- either by failing to roll the six in time or by losing the race. the 5 is the way to go here.
