After 7/5 19/14: A 5 or 6 will escape with a hit. Suppose we miss all. The front checker runs further, but realistically not past our chaser. We have had a bad sequence, but can still hit both checkers with direct shots, with a lot of shots on the rearmost checker and reasonable time to hit the front checker.

If 7/5 19/14 is not right, there is something conceptually wrong in my thinking about these type of positions, because to me this play is clear.
