1/ DMP. Two choices here : B/24* and find a 5, probably 20/15. I see two problems with this play : connectivity and the position of my spare too deep in my board. B20 3/2* I push him from the head of my prime, I can extend it with any 6, he doesn't have counterplay since my back men are anchored on his 5.

B20 3/2*

2/ hit or not ? If I hit, I leave a big numbers of return shots. Ok but I prevent him from making his bar point. If I don't hit, I improve my structure a lot, 3 point-board, the 3 point is more powerfull with the 5 point made, I unstack my 6 point. And... the 5 point is the 5 point. What's my choice now ? -the race is on my side argument for running. But I only have one checker back and I just need one roll to get out, or roll a 2 and then a 6. There's no hurry to run, his attacking position is not that strong. After running, I'll need a strong board anyway. - If I construct the 5, the timing is not bad for a prime vs prime since 48 pips are in his backmen while only 24 for me. And it's a lot easier to escape one man instead of two.

So I'll make the 5

3/ On the table I would have played 15/9 and never think about splitting the back checkers...The quiz factor makes me consider this play. You gain a shot right now with 53, And I cannot see any other variation where you gain something. On the other hand, If a rolls 54, He can hit you on the ace point and then, we can say that it's your only and last chance to hit him. So you loose a lot of shot equity in the long term. Let's keep the mindless 15/9
