Looks like I missed the fun. (I usually scroll past threads that don't seem to be about early game positions. Sometimes I click when RO or ROLLOUT appears in the header, as it did here.)

It is thematic to slot in front of an anchor (though more so when Opp's board is not stronger than one's own). Hence d (down, 13/7) should certainly make it onto the list of strong candidates.
Slotting the 5pt tends to be better than slotting the 7pt (examples of both appear at the above link), but in this case slotting the 5pt is clearly worse. The reason is that after Blue plays d (down, 13/7), ALL of White's aces hit on the 20pt and either cover the 4pt or hit a second checker. By contrast, after Blue plays $ (Slot, 13/8 6/5) it is with fewer than half of her 3s (43 33 32) that White is much better off hitting on the 18pt than playing on her own side of the board.
I expect d to do well with XG, just as it did with GnuBG. I'll do a rollout anyway, though, and post it. Nice position, Michael.
