Daily Quiz 1/17 - potential spoilers and confusion

1. I picked 13/9 85 My logic: 7-away 7-away, even in the race

PRAT, white is exerting more offensive pressure and slightly less likely to escape than blue.

13/9 8/5 creates parity with blue slightly better to with the 24/23 split 13/9 13/10 is too big with the 24 point split

Over the board I'd have done exactly the wrong thing and tried to do something big. Even punting is better.

2. I picked ND/T

My logic: 7-away 7-away tied in the race white can escape with 6's and blue has no significant priming or hitting threats. Blues escaping 6's are blocked and there is a real chance of being trapped.

3. I don't understand this position .... D/T

My logic: 3-away 7-away 26 pip lead in a 112 pip race white 6's are limited and will have to break

White could win. lots of action, more importantly meaningful gammon chances.

XG says whites gammon chances are only about 4%. I really overestimated the impact of the gammon if white takes. XG says white has a 27% chance of winning the match with a couple of tenths improvement if s/he takes. The match equity table says the take point is 23.75 so it's a take based on the score.

So had I read the position correctly I would have dropped despite it being a take.

So it looks like I don't really understand the score or the position in this case. I could use a solid human interpretation of this one.
