In Response To: XG 0ply strength ? (MaX)

XG2 in 1-ply plays at 2.06 PR (2.76 for cube, 1.94 for checker).

for comparison XG1 in 1-ply plays at 2.87 PR (4.42 for cube, 2.70 for checker).

for regular unlimited game (with cube) that translate into XG2 1-ply getting 0.0535 ppg (26.7 Elo difference) against XG1 1-ply.

I just ran a test this morning for cubeless unlimited games and here is the raw result:
XG_V2=65717 XG_V1=63285 Games=100000 - ppg=0.024 - delo=12

I do not have the number for GnuBG so I cannot answer your question, but maybe someone (Michael Petch?) have the numbers for GnuBG 0-ply. However, XG1 was close to Gnubg (in 3-ply 0.89 PR vs 1.10 PR)

Note that I cannot get the proper PR using the Depreli study as XG (1 or 2) 1-ply makes many mistakes that were not rolled. I got these number from my own data where all the moves are considered (1296 3-ply RO for all the differences for 2-ply and stronger, and for 1-ply using XGR++ to get the error)
