The Hand Again

Preflop - At these stakes and this short of a table this is a must call. Players are raising with any two at times, folding is a big no no, any person that plays these stakes and up will agree.

Flop - Of course I check, he's supposed to make a continuation bet and then I'll decide what to do. Flag #1 - At these stakes, HU, nobody EVER checks post flop in position regardless of the flop. The flop could have come the black of Oreo, flash of Dumbledore, and 2nd Planet of the Little Prince and the person would still make a continuation bet. When the rare rare rare case of someone not making a continuation bet happens it means one thing ... they flopped beyond a monster and hope you will catch up & make a hand or try to bluff at it.

Turn - I check again. I have yet to realize my own thoughts plugging along like some fish. Maybe he misclicked the first time around?? He'll have to bet this time. I check, he bets, I raise, he calls.

River - I bet out of course and he raises. Flag #2 - The way this hand went down there are only two hands in existance he could be raising here with, one is A7 the other is JJ. There is no disputing he must be on one of these two hands. Furthermore if he has A7 he'd have still be the flop with the straight draws, the jack, and the flush draw out there. There is literally only one hand he could be on. If I wasn't such a fuckin' fish playing on autopilot I'd have folded right then and there.

When you look at the facts at hand there's no way I shouldn't have saved myself a few bets. I doubt anyone out there will agree that I should have/could have laid this down on the river but I should have, and could have, and am pissed I didn't. That's the worst part of this hand, that I played it like a fuckin' fish. The only saving issue is that my opponent got a lot less action than he could have. If he comes out charging and doesn't stop I would never be able to put him on JJ and would have probably capped every street.
