OTB, in all honesty, when I saw the double 5s on the dice, I be so excited by 8/3(2) 7/2*(2) that I wouldn’t even stop to consider anything else. Now, with quiz factor, I can see that 20/10(2) is probably going to win more games (but far fewer gammons). So, 20/10(2) should be played when gammons are useless to Blue. But what about here, where gammons have some value? Is 8/3(2) 7/2*(2) going to get Blue gammoned more often? Probably. But it seems to me that by playing it (rather than 20/10(2)) Blue increases his chances of gammoning White more than he increases White’s chances of gammoning him. So, I would play still play the double hit.
