24 - 19 is the least inefficient quadrant - the checker on 20 should not be our immediate concern. From the starting position, the 8pt is the most expensive followed by the midpt. The 10pt is the most efficient but 13/10 (4) doesn't compensate sufficiently enough for the weight of the 4 checkers on 8. In fact, 13/10 (4) results in a negative weighting. In the short term 8/5 (4) may look better but compounds the inefficiency when you fail to make 2 crossovers from the mid.

Try looking for plays that balance efficiently like 13/10 (2) 8/5 (2). IMO, in this configuration the 10pt will be last pt to be vacated.
