In Response To: 6-5 opening (pontiac)

I like splitting (18, 8):

- it avoids building a big stack on the midpoint

- it adds a nice builder to the 8p

- it links up the back guys much better than running all the way with 1 checker.

- it takes advantage of the opp's stripped 8p.

- the score enables you to play slightly more boldly than normal.
