1. I see only two candidates here, making the 5pt or 24/23 6/2. Since we're getting primed, I'll try splitting. Splitting opens us to being attacked, but it's DMP and gammons don't count. We're unlikely to be able to prime White's advanced anchor even if we make the 5pt.
2. We want to pounce on White when she runs. 16/12 8/5 looks natural, though if White runs, we have only a single shot at her fleeing checker. What else is there? 16/13 8/4 and 8/1 don't look so good; we want a spare on our 5pt to attack White's straggler if she runs. The only other candidate I see is 8/5 8/4. Then if White rolls a 6, she escapes with a hit; however, White's board is crunched and she has another blot that we might pick up. In general I think we want White to break anchor if she rolls a 6 even if she hits while doing so. I'll try 8/5 8/4.
3. Can White take? Blue will usually safety one checker but not both. White's indirect shots will add up to about a single direct shot. To a good approximation, her hits will all net her a single win. But if she doesn't hit, she will usually lose a gammon, and sometimes a backgammon. I think White has to pass here. Is Blue too good? Could be but I would send the cube over. D/P.
