If white gets the shot it will be a coin toss. Most of the time white will get the shot. BUT blue is down 9-away 5-away. Press the advantage. A more interesting question might be is there a score where I don't double?

If this position isn't already in a book it c/should be.

2. 8/2 7/2

It's a borderline take in the race 10%+2 =11.3. Nonetheless blues chances in the race suck. White is 7 away from the 22 so there's little chance of a nice 6 shot for blue. But are still a couple of holes in the boat for white bearing in. Making the 2 point is constructive although it also reduces blues chances in the race further. Glass half full or half empty? I make the 2 point and sit on what is my best chance of the win (in my head). 22/16 variations seem too creative for me.

3. ND/T

In 5 roll vs 5 roll position where things are about equal I (rightly or wrongly) wait to double or redouble.

I need to spend some time with the books today on bear-off cubes.
