In Response To: ROLLOUT (Daniel Murphy)
I played around with a few variants (for money) for about ten minutes. The only way I could get the two plays to be close was to move the 3pt spare to the 6pt and give White a five-point board so that the immediate blotting rolls hurt a lot. It does seem that clearing the bar point before the 8pt is generally the right idea because we'd rather pass than dump a checker on the 1pt with a 6.
