More Length of Tourneys: Dinner Breaks

I am also wondering if dinner breaks of two hours, and sometimes even three hours, are just too detrimental to a tourney schedule. Especially a two day tourney.
Personally I can eat dinner in about 20 minutes. (I know, some people like the social aspect, but then there we are playing at midnight......)
This obviously will never fly. First, you ignore the social aspect of backgammon at your own peril. If we're all just a bunch of robots that come to push checkers around, then we never build a community of people who are actually friends with each other.
Secondly, I like to play backgammon, but I'm not going to do it for 12 hours straight. I need a break to recharge my mental batteries. The perfect way to do that is a nice leisurely two hours for dinner.
I'm a constant proponent of clocked play and other measures to keep tournaments moving, but this isn't the right idea.
