I don't think it's clear that 14 loses fewer gammons than 10. After 14 you can get primed which will certainly up you G losses. Surely this negative effect will somewhat counterbalance the effect of playing with 2 blots in the other play.

Which of the 2 effects is more important is hard to guesstimate.
