Can this particular player missplay from here after hitting and can this particular player recube too early?

Yes. Everybody can missplay this position. I doubt he would rdbl too early.

But that being said, as you've hinted this player was in the box, can and will this player pay off a 500 pt loss if things get goofy from here?

yes and yes.
