Some of the faster Intel CPUs these days are desktop models featuring hexacore design (6 cores) and Sandy Bridge E architecture. Wikipedia has a few good articles. See the Core i7-3960X, for instance. Neil, MCG, Stick, Michael Petch, David Levy and many others can probably fill you in better that I. BTW: You probably already know that XG2 is faster that XG1. You can verify this yourself by comparing the time needed for similar rollouts in the two versions. Otherwise, check out Xavier’s speed evaluations. Mike
